After completing his MBA at the Wharton School Ragland worked for two national real estate development firms, where he was intimately involved in the creation of two multi-billion dollar land development projects in the Washington, DC region. In 1991, he founded his own firm, Tradewinds Realty Partners, LLC. 20 years since graduating from Wharton, Ragland has been directly responsible for real estate projects ranging from single family homes to 2,300 acre land development projects. According to Ragland, “I know first hand how difficult it is to make the transition from employee to entrepreneur to real estate investor. Seeing a lack of insight into this wonderful world of real estate investing, Ragland began to share strategies and invest in Prince George’s County, MD. This initial group of four is now over 250 people. In 2004, Ragland was approached by WTOP News Radio in Washington, DC to host a weekly program on real estate investing, today it is one of the most listened to programs of its type, mainly though its simulcast on the internet at RealinvestorsTalkRadio.com In 2006 he started a blog titled; TheRealInvestor, which currently has over 13,100 subscribers. ![]() Sherman with his favorite pilot, Bob Hawthorne. Ragland is a member of the Leadership of the Inner City Council of the Urban Land Institute, and the Maryland Higher Education Commission. He lives in Bowie Maryland with his wife and three children, where he is also the past Chairman of the City of Bowie Economic Development Committee.
